Product Information

Formulated for white-tailed deer fawns and other deer species, Fawn-Lac™ closely matches the composition of mother’s milk. It provides complete balanced nutrition plus prebiotics, probiotics, and essential vitamins and minerals for proper development.

Directions for Feeding : A cup is provided in each Fawn-Lac container. Mix 1 scoop of the enclosed cup of Fawn-Lac Milk Replacer Powder into 3 cups of warm (110°F) water. Stir until the product is in solution. Feed up to 22 fluid ounces of milk replacer daily, divided into 3-6 feedings per day. More specific directions are printed on the Fawn-Lac container.

General Recommendations: A good quality grain mix, roughage and water should be offered free choice after fawns are about 8 days of age. The above schedule for feeding Fawn-Lac is a guideline for fawns averaging 5–8 pounds at birth. Extremely large or premature fawns may require more or less milk replacer. This feeding schedule is only a guideline. This product was formulated for white-tailed fawns, but may be suitable for species with similar requirements.

A Common Question

Do your milk replacer powders need to be refrigerated?

Yes, all kitten and puppy milk replacers must be refrigerated after opening. Esbilac® and KMR® powders are milk-based and contain fat, therefore have the potential to spoil under certain conditions. They can also experience bacterial growth when stored improperly. The can of powder has to be kept in the refrigerator or freezer after it has been opened. The powders will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 months, or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
