Why should the liquid be discarded after 72 hours?

Once opened, we recommend you keep liquid milk replacer in the refrigerator for no more than 72 hours. Bacterial growth may occur once the product is opened or mixed and exposed to air. To be safe, it is recommended that your puppy or kitten receive fresh powder mixed with water (reconstituted) or complete liquid product that has been frozen (after opened) and not expired.
